How we teach
How does Inner Beauty Shop approach education?
Anatomy leads. Science clarifies. Professional experience translates. Tradition provides context.
Every guide and article starts with the body: which structures and systems are involved, and what a practice may support. We explain how strong the evidence is, share what years in the treatment room have taught us, and give traditional practices like gua sha and Traditional Chinese Medicine the respect of their history without presenting them as scientific proof.
We never diagnose or promise medical results. The goal is simple: notice, understand, then respond with care you can keep up. Understand first. Buy second.
Learn FAQ
What can I learn on Inner Beauty Shop?
Three things. Self-Care Guides teach you how to use a tool or practice step by step, such as gua sha, The Lymphatic Brush or facial reflexology. Articles explain a single topic, like the skin barrier, the skin microbiome or the nine TCM body types. Our Approach explains Body-First Retail and the four Inner Beauty Pathways that organize everything we teach and sell.
What's the difference between a guide and an article?
A guide is a complete how-to for one tool or practice: what it is, how it works in the body, how to use it on the face and body, how often, safety and care. An article is a shorter read that answers one question or explores one topic, and links to the guides and products that relate to it.
Where should I start?
Start with what you notice. For puffiness or a heavy, tired look, begin with The Lymphatic Brush Guide (FLOW). For tension in the jaw, neck or shoulders, begin with the Gua Sha Guide (RELEASE). If you'd like to understand the thinking first, read Our Approach. There's no required order.
Who writes Inner Beauty Shop's education?
Our team in Toronto, led by founder Alexandra Fox, whose background is in holistic aesthetics with experience in medical aesthetics. When a piece draws on a specific educator's method, such as Cecily Braden's techniques for The Lymphatic Brush or Jackie Van Ruler's facial reflexology, we credit them by name.
Are the guides and articles free?
Yes. Everything on Learn is free to read, with no sign-up. If you'd like new articles sent to you, you can join our email list.
Is this medical advice?
No. Our guides and articles are educational, based on anatomy, current evidence, professional experience and traditional practice. They don't diagnose or treat any condition. If you're pregnant, have a medical condition or are receiving treatment, check with your healthcare provider before starting a new practice.
