Part of RELEASE.
What it is
A smooth, hand-polished white jade tool with four edges, each shaped for a different kind of work. Natural stone, so colour and veining vary slightly.
- Deep Release (top): slower, firmer pressure
- Light Release (right): a light, gliding touch
- Fascia Release (bottom, teeth): a textured, combing stroke
- Focus Area (left): smaller, more detailed work
There's no set area or direction for each edge. Notice how your body responds and choose the edge that feels right.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants one tool for face and body, from first-time users to regular gua sha users. Works on all skin types with an oil. Skip areas with active breakouts, broken or irritated skin.
How to use
- Cleanse, then apply an oil so the tool glides. Try N°1 Squalane Oil or N°8 Flow Oil.
- All sides and angles can be used. Use flat to skin for lighter pressure or use edges and corners for deeper pressure and trigger points.
- Start with the Light Release edge and a gentle touch to warm up muscle fibres.
- Move intuitively. Notice where you feel tension or restriction, and let that guide the edge, pressure and pace you choose.
- Keep pressure comfortable. More is not always better.

Care & safety
Care
Wash with mild soap and lukewarm water after each use, dry fully and store in its travel bag. Avoid hot water and hard surfaces. Stone can chip if dropped.
Safety
Don't use over broken skin, active breakouts, sunburn, rashes or recent injections or procedures. Use very light pressure on the front of the neck. If you bruise easily, take blood thinners, are pregnant or have a medical condition, check with your healthcare provider first. Light pinkness is normal, this is blood flow. Petechiae may occur.
The anatomy
Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps and links every muscle. Gua sha works on muscle and fascia: slow, intentional strokes may ease tension and restriction and bring blood flow to the area. As tension releases, fluid in the tissues may move more freely, but gua sha isn't a lymphatic drainage technique. For that, see The Lymphatic Brush. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, gua sha has been used for centuries to move qi and blood. Research on gua sha is still limited, so results vary.
FAQ
Is there a right way to use it?
There's no single routine. Start with a light touch and let what you notice guide you. Our Gua Sha Guide has tutorials if you'd like more direction.
How often should I use it?
A few minutes, a few times a week. Consistency matters more than pressure.
Do I need an oil?
Yes. Dry scraping drags the skin.
Can I use it on my body?
Yes. It's designed for both face and body.
Is gua sha the same as lymphatic drainage?
No. Gua sha works on muscle and fascia, and releasing tension may help fluid move more freely. For lymphatic drainage, we recommend The Lymphatic Brush.
Will it permanently lift my face?
No tool can promise that. Many people notice a refreshed look and less tension after use.
Why does my stone look different from the photo?
Natural stone varies in colour and markings.
